Hamilton County Grand Jury indicts man for the kidnapping and rape of his ex-girlfriend

A Hamilton County grand jury indicted Morris Mitchum today for the kidnapping and rape of his ex-girlfriend in Symmes Township. Mitchum, 41, has been indicted on four counts of Kidnapping, three counts of Rape, two counts of Aggravated Burglary and one count of Having Weapons While Under Disability.

On August 1, 2006 at 10 p.m., the defendant forced his way into the home of his ex-girlfriend, Marilyn Allen, at 10290 Richland Park Drive. Mitchum held the victim, her husband, and her mother hostage at gunpoint for several hours.

The next morning at 7 a.m., the defendant forced the victim into her car at gunpoint and drove to Highland County, where he repeatedly raped her. The defendant ultimately fell asleep and the victim was able to escape. Police officers in Highland County responded to the scene and arrested the defendant. A gun was recovered inside the vehicle.

Mitchum is currently being held at the Highland County Jail.
