Hamilton County Prosecutor announces capital indictment in Blue Ash Murder case

Hamilton County Prosecuting Attorney Joseph T. Deters announced today the capital indictment of Ryan Dieterle, 27, for the murder of his wife. He now faces the death penalty.

On June 28, 2006 around 4 a.m, Dieterle, of Green Township, went to the home of his estranged wife, Michelle Dieterle, 26, at 3783 Fox Run Drive in Blue Ash. The defendant climbed three balconies to the third floor of the apartment building and went through an unlocked window to get inside his wife’s apartment. Once the defendant broke inside the apartment, he raped the victim and stabbed her to death.

Michelle Dieterle had a temporary protective order against her husband after a domestic violence charge in May of this year.

Ryan Dieterle is currently being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center on a $1.1 million bond.

In a separate incident on December 5, 2005, the same victim, Michelle Dieterle, was kidnapped and raped on her way to work at the Hamilton County Jobs and Family Services. The defendant, Tyrone Franklin, is scheduled for another competency hearing today in front of Judge Melba Marsh.

Prosecutor Deters said today, “To think this poor woman went through all of this in a six month period is mind-boggling. We will relentlessly seek justice for her in both of these cases.”
