Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters announces indictment of a serial rapist linked by DNA evidence

Hamilton County Prosecuting Attorney Joseph T. Deters announced the indictment of a man for a series of rapes that occurred over an eight year period. DNA evidence matched by the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) led investigators to Lamont Wilks of Cincinnati.

Wilks, 34, has been indicted on 24 counts including Rape, Aggravated Burglary and Aggravated Robbery for the violent attacks which occurred from 1995 to 2003 in the Pleasant Ridge and Golf Manor neighborhoods. During each rape, the defendant forced his victims to cooperate by using a knife.

The defendant is currently incarcerated at Dayton Correctional Institution. He is serving a five year sentence on separate robbery charges. If convicted on all charges, he faces up to 240 years in prison.
