Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters will not file charges in the Beacon Street homicide

Hamilton County Prosecuting Attorney Joseph T. Deters announced today at a press conference that charges will not be filed against Anthony Stone for the November 10, 2006 death of Tyree Henderson, 30, on Beacon Street in Mount Washington.

Around 11 p.m, Anthony Stone, 50, was dropping off a co-worker at her home. Tyree Henderson, wearing dark clothing and a ski mask, opened the passenger door of Stone’s pickup truck, pointed a gun and demanded money from Stone and his passenger. When they refused, Henderson struck the passenger in the head with a fully loaded semi automatic handgun. He then pointed the gun at the passenger’s lap and stated, “I’m going to blow off your (expletive) unless you give me the money.” He then took her purse and ran down Beacon Street.

Stone followed Henderson in his truck for a short distance when Henderson turned around and pointed his handgun at the vehicle. In an attempt to avoid being shot, Stone drove into Henderson killing him.

An investigation by the Cincinnati Homicide Unit of the Cincinnati Police Department and the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office found that Mr. Stone acted in self-defense and charges will not be filed.
