Prosecutor Deters will not file charges in the death of a Madisonville woman

Hamilton County Prosecuting Attorney Joseph Deters announced today that no charges will be filed in the death of a 61-year-old Madisonville woman.

Johannas Pope's body was discovered by police January 4, 2006 in an upstairs room of the home she shared with family members. Hamilton County Coroner, Dr. Odell Owens, said the woman died two and half years ago in August of 2003. He ruled her death as a result of hypertensive cardiovascular disease.

Prosecutor Deters said today, "No crimes were committed. Ms. Pope died of natural causes. I would like to compliment Dr. Owens’ office on their hard work and dedication to this case."
