Deters announces murder indictment of Reynaldo Perez

Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters today announced the indictment of Reynaldo Perez concerning the death of April McBride. This homicide took place in the early morning hours of October 2, 2007, at Rudder's Grill Pub.

Perez has been charged with Felony Murder, multiple counts of Felonious Assault, Aggravated Vehicular Homicide, multiple counts of Aggravated Vehicular Assault, and Failure to Stop after an Accident. He faces life in prison if convicted on all counts.

Joseph Deters said today, “It is our belief that this defendant intentionally drove his truck at a high rate of speed in order to run over Joshua McBride. He caused serious physical harm to him. His truck then plowed into the patio area, striking and killing April McBride. Susan Felty was also seriously injured on the patio. He then left the scene of the crimes.

The truck was used as a weapon, and that is specifically why he has been charged with murder. It was no different than as if he has fired a gun.
