Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters announces the indictment of Mark Pickens for the assault of Anthony J. Jones


Today, Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters announced the indictment of downtown resident Mark Pickens (dob 12/5/89) for the March 27, 2009 shooting of Anthony J. Jones.

Pickens is charged with 2 counts of Felonious Assault with a Firearm Specification (Felony 2), 1 count of Attempted Murder with a Firearm Specification (Felony 1) and 2 counts of Weapon Under Disability (Felony 3). If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of 31 years in prison.

Pickens shot Jones multiple times in the vicinity of 400 W. 9th in downtown Cincinnati. Jones suffered serious injuries as a result of this incident.

The investigation into the June 2, 2009 deaths of Noelle Washington, 9-month-old Anthony Jones and 3-year-old Sharailyn Wright is still continuing and the Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office will be not discussing those cases at this time
