Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters announces indictment in rape case

Today, Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters announced the indictment of Reading resident Henry Dove (DOB 3-30-38) for 6 counts of Rape (Felony 1).  If convicted of all charges, he faces the possibility of life in prison.

Dove is charged with raping two young female relatives who had been residing with him in his Reading home.  These incidents occurred in April, 2014.  One of the young girls is 8-years-old and the other victim is 6-years-old.  Both of the victims are now in the custody of the Department of Jobs and Family Services as well as two other young children who were residing in the home.

Dove is currently under federal indictment in case 1/14 CR 048 for Child Pornography charges.  If convicted of those charges, he faces the possibility of 20 years in prison.  Dove is currently in federal custody and his case is set for pre-trial on July 16, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Chief Judge Dlott.

Reading Police started their investigation as a result of the federal investigation and indictment.
