Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters announces indictment in stranger rape case

Today, Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters announced the indictment of Ronald Martin (DOB 2/18/50) in a stranger rape case.  Martin is charged with 1 count of Rape (Felony 1), 2 counts of Gross Sexual Imposition (Felony 3) and 1 count of Kidnapping (Felony 1) in the April 29, 2014 incident.  If convicted of all charges, he faces the possibility of life in prison.

Martin is charged with taking the 9-year-old female victim into his apartment at 1869 Losantiville Avenue where the rape occurred.  When the police searched his residence, they found toys and stuffed animals even though he has no children living with him in the home.

Prosecutor Deters commented, “This is a serious case and we are concerned that there might be more young victims.  Anyone with information about this case or this defendant is asked to call the Cincinnati Police Department Personal Crimes Unit / Detective Hollis Hudepohl at 513-352-6474 or the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office at 513-946-3000.”
