Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters announces plea of information in Brandon Lampley case

Today, Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters announced that an Information charging Brandon Lampley (DOB 4/17/86) with 1 count of Sexual Battery (Felony 3), has been filed with the Hamilton County Clerk of Courts.  If convicted of the charge, he faces the possibility of a maximum 5 years in prison.

Lampley, who at the time of the incident was a Northwest Local School’s teaching assistant, is charged with having sexual conduct with a 16-year-old Northwest High School student on February 12, 2014 at Northwest High School, located at 11761 Pippin Road.  When the victim was not in her assigned classroom at a particular time during the school day, the school started an investigation which resulted in today’s charges.

Lampley’s case is set for plea on May 7th at 10:00 a.m. with Judge Ralph E. Winkler.  He is expected to plead guilty to the Information.

Lampley resigned from his employment shortly after these allegations surfaced.

Prosecutor Deters commented, “School employees in a position of authority, such as Lampley, are held to a high standard.  Parents should not have to worry about teachers having sexual conduct with their children while they are at school.”
