Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters announces indictment of naked guy
Today, Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters announced the indictment of Algeria Washington aka Michael Washington (DOB 9-7-88) on 2 counts of Felonious Assault (Felony 2) and 1 count of Criminal Damaging or Endangering (Misdemeanor 2). If convicted of all charges, he faces the possibility of 8 years in prison.
On October 12th at approximately 1:45 p.m. Washington assaulted Maria Warren after she got off the bus in the vicinity of Oak Street in Walnut Hills. He yelled obscenities at her and then stabbed her in the face and hands with a large knife. Miss Warren had serious injuries as a result of this and required hospitalization and surgeries. She is still in serious pain today. Miss Warren was unknown to Mr. Washington.
After Washington stabbed Miss Warren, several citizens gave chase. As Washington was fleeing the scene, he broke out a window of a car on Oak Street.
Cincinnati Police officers arrived on the scene within minutes and arrested Washington on Gilbert Avenue in Walnut Hills.
Washington was completely naked during this entire incident. When arrested, he had noticeable blood on his body. The knife he used was recovered from the scene and is currently at the Hamilton County Coroner’s Lab for testing.
Prosecutor Deters commented, “This is a strange case. We do not often see naked men armed with knives running through residential neighborhoods in the middle of the day. Miss Warren was in the wrong place at the wrong time and, unfortunately, suffered serious injury as a result.”
