Woman indicted for trying to hire a hit man to kill ex-boyfriend
Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters announced the indictment of a woman who tried to hire a hit man to kill her ex-boyfriend.
Bettina Short was indicted on Thursday, November 10, 2005, for one count of Conspiracy to Commit Murder, one count of Felonious Assault, and one count of Carrying a Concealed Weapon with a gun specification.
On November 3, 2005, Ms. Short attempted to engage a hit man to cause harm to an ex-boyfriend. The “hit man” was an undercover Cincinnati Police Officer. Ms. Short provided the undercover officer with a loaded handgun and the location of her ex-boyfriend.
Prosecutor Deters said, “The Cincinnati Police deserve great credit in acting quickly and professionally to arrest Ms. Short, saving this man’s life.”
