Death Penalty Indictment returned in beating death of Mt Washington man

Hamilton County Prosecuting Attorney Joseph T. Deters announced the Indictment of Jeffrey Barrett, 38, for the Aggravated Murder and Aggravated Robbery of Rodney Simpson, 51 of Mt Washington on Sunday evening, August 19, 2007.

This indictment carries death penalty specifications which means that if the defendant is convicted for these crimes, he is eligible to receive the death penalty.

The indictment alleges that the murder occurred during the commission of the robbery of personal property. The victim was beaten to death.

Judge Robert Winkler has been assigned the case which has been scheduled for arraignment on Monday August 27, 2007 at 10:00am .
