Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich announces indictment in july 26 attack

Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich today announces the indictment of six people related to the July 26 attack at Fourth and Elm Streets in Downtown Cincinnati.

The six people were indicted on eight charges each: Three counts of felonious assault, three charges of assault and two charges of aggravated rioting.

The defendants face up to 29.5 years in prison.

Those indicted are:

Montianez Merriweather, 34, 3825 Herron Ave., Cincinnati

Patrick Rosemond, 39, address unknown

Dominique Kittle, 37, 1105 Dayton St., Cincinnati

Dekyra Vernon, 24, 3663 Clarion Ave., Cincinnati

Jermaine Mathews, 39, 2415 Kenton St., Cincinnati

Aisha Devaugh, 26, 835 Poplar St., Cincinnati

Ohio’s aiding the abetting law is an underlying premise of this case. Essentially, anyone who assists or facilitates the commission of a crime, even without directly committing the act, can face the same penalties as the principal offender.

“What I saw on video is not the Cincinnati I know and love,” said Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich. “These charges hold those involved in the attack accountable.”
