Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich announces indictment in long-term theft and fraud case
Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich announced today that a grand jury has indicted Diana Frey on multiple felony charges stemming from an alleged long-term scheme involving theft and financial fraud.
Frey, 66, of West Price Hill, is charged with five felonies: three counts of theft, unauthorized use of property, and telecommunications fraud.
The offenses occurred between Jan. 1, 2017, and Dec. 31, 2025, at Weil Thoman Moving and Storage in St. Bernard. Frey, who had previously served time in federal prison for stealing over $700,000 from the union she represented, was hired by the victim company after her release in 2014. Frey is accused of manipulating company financial records and inflating payroll figures to conceal ongoing theft. The theft began almost immediately upon her being hired.
Authorities estimate the total financial loss to Weil Thoman Moving and Storage to be between $300,000 and $400,000.
“It is shameful that Diana Frey was given a second chance and took advantage of a person who wanted to help her,” Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich said. “But in all cases, we take allegations of financial crimes seriously, particularly when they impact local businesses and livelihoods.”
Frey faces up to 26 years in prison.
