Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich announces outcome of Neo-Nazi Rally review
The Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office has determined that no prosecutable offenses were identified when a group of neo-Nazis gathered on February 7 in the Village of Evendale.
After a thorough review of the evidence provided by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department and the Evendale Police Department, the prosecutor’s office concluded that no prosecutable offense occurred during the Feb. 7 incident, based on state and local laws.
This review focused solely on potential violations of criminal statutes or ordinances. It did not evaluate law enforcement tactics used during the incident, nor did it address administrative policies, procedures, or potential civil liability.
Although the February gathering did not result in criminal charges, it posed a serious risk of violence and harm. Law enforcement’s immediate priority was to de-escalate the situation and prevent violence - a goal they achieved.
The presence and message of neo-Nazis are unacceptable, and the community responded appropriately. Our nation has fought hard to defeat Nazism and its destructive ideology. We must not only reject these messages but also work every day to build a community that embraces diversity, inclusion, and mutual respect.
The community responded swiftly and forcefully to condemn the hateful rhetoric. That energy must now be channeled into sustained action: strengthening community bonds, supporting anti-hate initiatives, and ensuring that all residents feel safe and valued.
We will continue to stand together to confront hate - not just in words, but through ongoing, decisive action.
