Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich announces former property manager indicted for stealing tenant rent payments
Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich announced today that a Hamilton County Grand Jury has indicted Bridgette Morris, 48, on multiple felony charges stemming from a scheme to divert tenant rent payments for her personal use while employed as a property manager.
Morris, of Springfield Township, is charged with three counts of theft, one count of unauthorized use of property, one count of tampering with records, and one count of telecommunications fraud.
Morris served as a property manager for New Albany-based Wallick Communities, a company that manages apartment properties that include low-income and subsidized housing. Between September 2023 and June 2025, Morris accepted rent payments from tenants and deposited the funds into personal bank accounts under her control rather than forwarding the payments to the property owner. The scheme came to light after tenants received past-due notices despite having made their rent payments. Investigators at the Cincinnati Police Department reviewed rent-payment records, checks, and bank-account information and determined that approximately $40,000 in tenant rent payments had been diverted.
Tenants at three properties were impacted. The properties are:
Judson Jerusalem Meadows
4855 Ridge Ave.
Cincinnati, OH 45209
Judson Terrace
2371 Harrison Ave.
Cincinnati, OH 45211
Woodview Apartments
2399 Harrison Ave.
Cincinnati, OH 45211
Wallick Communities credited affected tenants for their payments and made them financially whole.
“Tenants should never have to fear losing their housing because someone entrusted with managing their rent payments chose greed ahead of their responsibilities,” said Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich. “These allegations are a serious breach of trust that affected residents and created unnecessary hardship. My office will continue to hold accountable those who exploit positions of trust.”
