Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich announces indictment of delhi man for severely injuring infant
Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich announces today the indictment of a 30-year-old Delhi Township man for severely injuring a child.
Alexander Grimme was indicted on two charges of endangering children, felonious assault and strangulation involving a child who was nine months old at the time.
On Jan. 21, 2025, Grimme was babysitting the child in a Delhi Township home when the infant suffered abusive head trauma.
The baby became unresponsive at 11 a.m. and Grimme took the child to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, where doctors determined the injuries were non-accidental. The child sustained permanent brain damage and now faces serious developmental delays.
Grimme faces up to 22 years in prison.
“This child’s life has been forever changed in the most tragic way,” said Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich. “It is heartbreaking and infuriating that somebody trusted to care for a baby could cause such harm. We will make sure he is held accountable.”
Grimme will be arraigned Friday morning in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court.
Grimme is facing separate charges in Franklin County, Indiana that allege he injured the same child.
