Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich announces indictment in murder of pregnant woman

Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich announced today that the grand jury has indicted three men for their roles in the killing of 26-year-old India Kinamore on March 4, 2023. Kinamore was pregnant at the time and due to give birth that day.

At approximately 6 a.m. that morning Kinamore was fatally shot in her Colerain Township home. The crime was staged to look like a burglary and robbery, but that was a ruse, investigators determined.

The three defendants, Kayvon Warren, 30, Robert Ervin, 20, and Lamar Morris Suggs, 22, were charged on a 13-count indictment including four counts of aggravated murder, as well as charges of burglary and felonious assault. Warren and Morris Suggs are also charged with having a weapon while under disability.

Warren has been identified as the father of Kinamore’s unborn child. Investigators learned that Warren had pressured Kinamore to have an abortion, but law prevented it. At the time he was involved with another woman and facing severe financial hardship, including the loss of his home.

The investigation revealed that Warren conspired with the co-defendants to kill Kinamore. Evidence shows the men met shortly before the shooting and Warren even requested bereavement leave from his job prior to the death, a detail that underscores the premeditated nature of the crime.

“This should have been one of the happiest days of India’s life,” said Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich. “Instead, the father of the child conspired with two others to kill her. It is heartbreaking. My office will see that justice is done for both India and her baby.”

Pillich wishes to thank the Colerain Police detectives for their relentless work investigating this case, which involved dozens of interviews, scrutiny of financial records and reviews of phone records.

The men face a possible life prison sentence.
