Arraignment set for Colerain Township man indicted after shooting at Police Officers

Mark Bramble, 39, of Colerain Township, is scheduled to be arraigned Friday morning at 9 a.m. in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court on a 13-count indictment for firing at police officers during a chase.

On the evening of Aug. 29, Colerain Police officers responded to a domestic dispute on Deshler Drive, where Bramble had threatened neighbors. When officers arrived, Bramble also threatened them. As officers attempted to make an arrest, Bramble fled in his car. At one point during the pursuit, Bramble stopped and fired one shot at officers.

The chase ended near the Northgate Mall when an officer shot Bramble, injuring him. No officers were harmed, but the shot shattered a police cruiser windshield.

Bramble was indicted earlier this week on a 13-count indictment. He was charged with three counts of felonious assault, discharge of a firearm on or near prohibited premises, failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, resisting arrest, having weapons under disability, carrying concealed weapons, three counts of aggravated menacing, obstructing official business and disorderly conduct.

If convicted on all charges, Bramble faces up to 64 and half years in prison. The Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office will seek a high bond.

“Mark Bramble’s conduct endangered both law enforcement and the community,” said Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich. “We are fortunate no officers were injured. We will not tolerate such blatant disregard for community safety.”
