Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich announces life sentence in double murder case

Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich announced today that Desean Brown has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after pleading guilty in the 2020 murders of Nyteisha Lattimore and her 3-year-old son, Nylo.

Under the plea agreement, the death penalty was removed as a sentencing option. Brown, 25, pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated murder, guaranteeing he will never be free again. While the evidence was strong, the plea spares the victims’ family years of painful appeals. The agreement was initially offered under the prior administration but was finalized after Brown was recently found competent to stand trial.

Investigators determined that Brown fatally stabbed Nyteisha Lattimore on or about Dec. 5, 2020, in her Walnut Hills apartment. Hours later, in the early morning of Dec. 6, Brown killed Nylo by throwing him in the Ohio River. On Dec. 11, Brown placed Nyteisha’s body in a bag and left it on the Purple People Bridge, where it was discovered the next day. Nylo’s body has never been found.

“What Brown did was ruthless, and this plea deal reflects that,” said Prosecutor Pillich. “This sentence delivers justice for both Nyteisha and Nylo.”
